a children’s museum of art & music

The Children’s Museum of Sound & Color is a future children’s museum designed for music and art education through play.

Our organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit currently in early stages of fundraising and development.

what to expect

A cultural experience designed for children to discover famous music and art through hands-on exploration, creative play, and inclusive learning experiences.

Our hands-on play opportunities and programming will encourage visitors to engage with art and music while promoting literacy, STEAM exploration, and hearing and visual impairment awareness.

Exhibits will be designed for children ages 0-12 but can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

what we provide

Silhouette of a hand holding a circular object, with colorful light reflections creating a pattern on the object and surrounding area.

Our museum is currently raising funds to build a physical location. While we work toward establishing a permanent home, we are expanding our impact through community partnerships, educational programming, and pop-up experiences that bring our mission directly to families throughout the region.

art & music made for kids

Immersive, play-based learning exhibits and programming that encourage visitors to create, experiment, and explore famous works of art and music.

accessible sensory exhibits

Exhibits designed for children to learn about the science behind hearing and sight, including education and accessibility tools for experiencing art and music with vision or hearing loss.

what makes us different

Instead of offering small samples of different topics like most children’s museums, we are creating a space that specializes in hands-on art and music education and the science behind how we hear and see the world. Our exhibits will introduce famous art and music to kids in ways that engage, inspire, and excite them most — through play.

why Art & Music

  • social-emotional development

Creative play with art and music can help children grow confidence, express emotions, and collaborate better in groups.

  • Child and adult playing piano together, hands on keyboard

    Cognitive development

Engaging with music and art in early childhood builds young brains by strengthening fine motor skills, problem-solving, and focus.

  • Two children are lying on a table, closely examining a colorful picture in an open book. One child is holding a pen and pointing at the picture.

    academic achievement

When children sculpt with clay or play music, they’re strengthening the parts of their brains that develop language, math, and memory.

We’re just getting started and we need your help to grow!

At this founding stage, the museum is entirely volunteer-led. Every contribution directly supports the planning, partnerships, and exhibit development needed to establish our museum. Your generosity — whether through donations, shared resources, or something unique — helps us take the next step toward a physical home.
